Norwich Castle: Timelapse Film of Tower Crane Construction

Norwich Castle
Norwich Castle

On 30 September 2020, a 136 ft tower crane was constructed at Norwich Castle. This crane will be at the centre of the Royal Palace Reborn project to restore the Norman Keep to its original splendour.

The project will transform the Keep’s internal spaces by rebuilding its medieval floors and rooms to so that everyone can experience a Norman royal palace and its stories. It is one of the largest heritage projects of its kind currently underway in the UK. The major funder is the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

While this work is taking place, don’t forget there is still plenty to see throughout the rest of the museum – from Egyptian mummies to polar bears, and beautiful artworks to ancient hand axes.
