Record Start to Year for North East Housebuilder

Homes by Esh sees completions double as booming housing market continues to drive sales

A County Durham-based housebuilder has reported a record start to the year with 70% of new homes across all developments now sold.

The strong start to 2022 follows one of its most successful years in company history as the thriving housing market continues to drive sales.

Homes by Esh achieved a record number of completions in 2021 with figures more than doubling from the previous year, when construction activity was impacted by the pandemic outbreak.

Deputy Managing Director of Homes by Esh, Collin Willets, said: “The last two years have been unprecedented owing to the pandemic. However, it is a huge boost to our company and our colleagues that we have started 2022 in a strong position and sales continue to perform at record levels – a testament to everyone’s hard work.

“As a developer, we aim to build homes which are superior in quality with high specification design. We are committed to acting on local need and through a wide variety of house types ensure we build homes which suit the desired style and size for homebuyers.”

The company’s largest development is West Park Garden Village which will deliver 400 new homes in Darlington. The location boasts brand-new green spaces, including West Park Nature Reserve which is the first new park to be created in the area for 100 years. More than 25% of properties are now sold or reserved with further phases set to be released.

Elsewhere in Darlington, Homes by Esh launched Elder Brook Park towards the end of 2021. Centrally located, the site will include a collection of 156 premium quality two, three, and four-bedroom homes, of which 60% of homes for 2022 are now sold or reserved.

The latest site recently added to the housebuilder’s portfolio is Mount Park in Gateshead’s Springwell Village where 90% of homes being built this year have been reserved off-plan.

Homes by Esh is now working towards strengthening its pipeline further through strategic land acquisition across the North East, with three sites undergoing planning. Willets added: “A strong sales performance brings with it an increased need for new development opportunity and strategic land purchases.

“Moving forward we wish to continue our period of organic growth and seek to build on our land portfolio throughout this year and into the future, ensuring we can bring high-quality, contemporary homes to even more locations across the region.”
