Homebuilder is Green by Name and in Nature

CASTLE Green Homes is building on its green credentials by installing PV panels on its offices.

The homebuilder enlisted the help of Kinmel Bay- based JM Renewable Solutions to fit the renewable energy technology on the rooves of its headquarters in St Asaph and Preston Brook.

Around 80% of each roof is now covered with the panels, with a capability of generating up to 26,500kwh of energy.

Castle GreenĀ chief executive Gwyn Jones said: ā€œWeā€™re committed to reducing our environmental impact and are continuously looking at ways to improve the sustainability of the business as part of our ambition to be green by name and in nature. Weā€™ve previously offset residual emissions via verified projects, enabling the business to declare carbon net-zero status. Installing PV panels onto our offices forms part of our net-zero plan that illustrates a potential path to reduce our emissions by at least 50% by 2030.

ā€œJMR are local to our head office and so were the obvious choice for installing the technology.Ā  Investing in renewables will make a long-term difference to the business.ā€

JM Renewable (JMR) SolutionsĀ was crowned ā€œbest solar PV installer/contractor of the yearā€ in Wales at the Regional Energy Efficiency Awards (EEA).Ā The company installed 524 solar PV systems on both domestic and commercial premises in 2022.

Director Ben Musgrave said: ā€œItā€™s great to see businesses like Castle Green Homes taking a practical approach to reducing their carbon emissions and their energy bills by installing PV panels. We estimate that they will consume 80% of the energy generated by the panels, helping reduce their reliance on the grid and lower their energy bills.ā€

Castle Green Homes delivers eco-friendly, energy efficient new homes across North Wales and the North West of England with EPC ratings of A or B.
