11 Belgrave Becomes First Building in London Victoria to Offer 10-100GBPS as it Appoints Vorboss to Install Full-Coverage Fibre Network

Belgrave Road

Quadrum, the developer delivering the net zero, 150,000 sq ft redevelopment at 11 Belgrave Road in London Victoria has appointed Vorboss to install its 10-100 GBPS full coverage fibre network, making it one of only a handful of buildings in London to offer this level of connectivity, and the first in Victoria.

Vorboss is the only vertically integrated provider of leased line technology for businesses in London. Its mission is to deliver 10Gbps as the new minimum standard at a competitive cost, arming data-hungry businesses with 10 times more capacity than the 1Gbps available to the majority of businesses in the capital. It is already providing internet services to best-in-class buildings including 22 Bishopsgate and Arbor Bankside Yards.

11 Belgrave Road is joining this stand-out group of buildings. Originally a 1950s-era structure, a small part of which is being retained, is being transformed to provide 108,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office accommodation alongside 14,000 sq. ft of communal spaces and facilities and 13,000 sq. ft of green space including a garden and several terraces. Set to complete in Q1 of 2024, it will provide a contemporary people-focused workspace, equipped for the digital age and able to meet the needs of modern businesses.

Technology and connectivity are central to this new workplace, which meets the highest standards. It is pre-certified WiredScore Platinum and targeting SmartScore Platinum certification. The project is also the first in the UK to achieve an ‘Excellent’ 5.5-star design-reviewed NABERS UK target rating and is net zero carbon in design and operation. Statistics show that harnessing smart technology can deliver a reduction of carbon emissions of around 21%. It is also design-stage reviewed BREEAM Outstanding rating and pre-certified WELL ‘Platinum’. All of these certifications lay the groundwork for an unparalleled occupier-experience and future proof the building for many years to come.

Ilyas Aslam, Chief Operating Officer at Quadrum, commented: “We are proud to be one of the early adopters of Vorboss, setting a new standard for internet connectivity in London. With 11 Belgrave meeting the best standards for workplaces and set to become one of the most sustainable buildings in London and the UK, we immediately saw the benefit to ensure the capacity existed for our occupiers to thrive and future proof their businesses.”

Tim Creswick, Vorboss CEO, said: “Having recently extended our network to cover all of Victoria, it is great to welcome on board a forward-thinking customer such as 11 Belgrave. We see our role as enablers to businesses like 11 Belgrave, who aim to offer their very best services to their customers. We built Vorboss for this reason, and these are exactly the kind of companies that drive our economy forward.”

The Vorboss network is based on a point-to-point fibre architecture. Every customer is connected via a dedicated fibre optic cable, as opposed to passive optical network (known as PON). It provides high-bandwidth, reliable, uncontended business services.
