UK and Ireland specialist contractor Pure Fitout has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Gary McCloskey to the role of group commercial director.

The Belfast-based company, which was established in 2015, is one of the fastest expanding fitout contractors in the UK, with year on year growth of 25 percent and over 85 percent of business secured through repeat orders.

Overseeing all of the company’s commercial operations across both markets, Gary will be building on Pure Fitout’s brand presence in the UK following successful projects with the luxury hotel Claridge’s and the award winning Birdies, as well as hotel of the year Birch.

With over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Gary has delivered projects for retail, airports, higher education, rail networks, private housing and leisure clients. He is a qualified chartered quantity surveyor and chartered construction manager with accreditation from the MSc, MRICS and MCIOB.

Pure Fitout has recently invested in its headquarter and manufacturing base in Mallusk, with the premises comprising 55,000 sq ft across two large adjacent factories. In-house capabilities include bespoke joinery, metal fabrication, modular buildings and metal glazing systems manufacture, providing full end to end project management.

Ronan Higham, managing director of Pure Fitout, said: “Gary has been working with us for over a year and it was a natural move to promote him to this senior position within our group. His experience to date and his knowledge of the industry makes him a strong asset for our company, and we are looking forward to exploring opportunities to grow our presence across the UK and Europe following our exponential success in Ireland during the last five years.”

Gary McCloskey, group commercial director of Pure Fitout, said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at an exciting time for the company as it continues on its ambitious trajectory. As a team we have the unique selling point of being able to deliver crafted joinery, bespoke metal works and in house project management, giving us full control over projects on an end to end basis. Many of our projects in the UK and Ireland, such as The Times’ Hotel of the Year The Birch in Hertfordshire, have won accolades for their creativity and innovation with Pure Fit Out working collaboratively with our clients to achieve this.

“We continue to look for new talent, particularly quantity surveyors, to work with us on exciting projects across the UK and Ireland and we offer them excellent career progression opportunities by empowering them with the knowledge they need to grow within the company and industry alike.”
