First images revealed of new Ashberry Homes development in Medstead

Ashberry Homes has unveiled the first images previewing the 54 sustainable properties it is building at a new development in Medstead.

The computer-generated images provide the first glimpse of the wide range of house designs which will feature at Woodview Chase, a collection of one to five-bedroom homes being built on land off Holland Drive in the village.

Construction work began at the site last autumn and Ashberry Homes is preparing to welcome visitors to the development for the first time this week (6 and 7 June) when the first properties will be released onto the market.

The newly released images show the mix of property types planned for the development, which includes detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, as well as one-bedroom maisonettes. They also highlight the variety of architectural features which have been incorporated into the design of the homes, such as traditional porches, chimneys and bay windows, to ensure the development reflects the appearance of existing properties in the area.

Emily Putnam, Sales Manager at Ashberry Homes, said: “It is essential that housing developments not only provide desirable places for their new residents to live but also blend in sympathetically with their surroundings. The wide variety of house designs planned for Woodview Chase will create an attractive and interesting street scene while the use of traditional materials, including a mix of brick colours, white render and hanging tiles, will ensure the homes reflect the rural character of the area.

“The attractiveness of the development will be further enhanced by the extensive tree and hedgerow planting which will take place throughout the site, complementing the other measures we are taking to enhance biodiversity, such as the installation of bat and bird boxes and hedgehog houses. Public open space with a play area will also provide a valuable recreational space for new residents and the wider community.

“By delivering a broad mix of homes from one-bedroom maisonettes to five-bedroom detached properties, Woodview Chase will meet the needs of a wide variety of housebuyers. All the houses and the first-floor maisonettes will benefit from solar panels, giving residents access to lower-cost green energy in line with our company-wide commitment to reduce carbon emissions.”

The 54 homes at Woodview Chase will comprise 47 homes for private sale and seven shared ownership properties. The development is located to the rear of Brackenbury Gardens and Boyneswood Close, with access provided from Holland Drive.

Ashberry Homes, which is part of the Bellway group, will officially launch the Woodview Chase development to the public when it opens a sales office at the site on Saturday 6 June. For more information about the development, visit https://www.ashberryhomes.co.uk/new-homes/wessex/woodview-chase.
